Senior Frailty Occupational Therapist

Job summary

An exciting opportunity is now available at the University Hospital of North Midlands (UHNM) for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Senior Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in our frail older adult population.

The post offers the opportunity to work in one of the busiest major trauma hospitals in the UK within an exciting and supportive university hospital environment. We assess and treat a large cohort of older adults with diverse and often complex presentations across several older adult medical wards. The therapy team consist of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and dual trained Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Technical Instructors. The therapy team work as part of a wider, dedicated multidisciplinary team which include nurses, doctors, an integrated discharge hub and diversional therapists.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate relevant experience and have an enhanced level of understanding of rapid assessment, intervention, decision making, discharge planning and services available to support this.

Main duties of the job

The older adult therapy team at the UHNM is innovative and enthusiastic with strong leadership and a commitment to MDT working. The post holder will be required to work weekends and bank holidays and there will also be an expectation to cross cover the wider Occupational Therapy services at UHNM on occasions.
