Job summary
We are looking for an experienced renal dietitian to join our team to support maternity leave. The post holder will join a well established and supportive team to deliver renal dietetic care to inpatients on our acute ward and outpatients within haemodialysis and chronic Kidney disease and home therapy clinics, these are a combination of both dietetic led and MDT clinics. There may be the requirement to travel to our dialysis units in Stafford and Crewe to support service delivery.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for managing your specialist caseload, maintaining associated records.
You will work closely with other renal dietitian team members and the wider adult acute dietetic team to ensure timely dietetic care, prioritising the workload within the team, supporting other members as appropriate, this includes dietetic assistants and student dietitians.
You will cover inpatient and out patient areas including haemodialysis units.
You will have the opportunity to participate in staff training within the MDT, including nursing, medical colleagues, medical students and nursing assistants.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with catering colleagues, and AHPs to deliver a quality service to our renal patients and service users.

- Provides continuity of care across stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
- To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing therapy input to patients in renal and to liaise with other disciplines and agencies as required in the planning and implementation of patient care.
- To liaise with and work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, building and maintaining effective working relationships within the Trust and the health economy.Liaise with dietitians from other Trusts and other Healthcare professionals concerning patient treatments and progress with dietary regimens, depending on the patients clinical condition and need.
- To educate patients and their relatives / carers about their condition and its significance and ensure that care information and support is available.
- To communicate and process complex and sensitive information to and from patients, carers and multi-disciplinary team.
- To plan, implement and evaluate specialist treatment plans for patients who may have complex needs, including physiological, psychological and social factors, reviewing and adapting treatment plans to suit the patients individual needs.
