Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated MRI Radiographer to join the MRI management team in a Team Lead capacity.
The MRI service at University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM) operates across multiple sites, including Royal Stoke University Hospital, County Hospital, The Valley Centre and Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) . Collectively, the service provides high-quality imaging and care to nearly 50,000 patients per year.
This role encompasses both clinical and administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced clinical expertise, strong decision-making abilities, and a dedicated work ethic. They will also be expected to uphold and promote the Trust's core values, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide clinical oversight and leadership for the department, managing both systems and staff. They will assume full line management responsibilities, including mentoring and offering pastoral support to the MRI team.
Additionally, the post holder will oversee departmental equipment, ensuring timely maintenance, servicing, and fault reporting in accordance with Trust policies.
In collaboration with the Superintendent and Senior Management Team, the post holder will develop and maintain departmental policies, protocols and procedures to support high-quality, cost-effective, evidence-based practice aligned with national and local guidelines.
The post holder will retain a significant clinical role, performing a wide range of high-quality MRI examinations in compliance with professional and local standards. They will ensure that exceptional patient care is consistently delivered across the team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be expected to support out-of-hours service delivery as required.
