Band 8a Database Administrator (permanent role)
UHNM has a strong record of successful internal developments, in particular a notable success with its clinical portal supporting timely access topatient information for doctors. IM&T are able to offer a fantastic opportunity to join the Software Development team and work with both with otherIM&T teams as well as passionate clinicians in driving forward technology to support their clinical decision-making.
The post holder will develop and maintain multiple databases to support the development of the Trusts in house developed systems, as well as support the business critical patient care systems for the organisation, that are key to maintaining the continuity of the Trust's business and operational processes.
Liaises with third party suppliers and staff across all levels of the Trust in the planning, design and development of highly complex database system solutions.
Main duties of the job
- To create and manage databases including Table management, procedures, views, indexes and triggers
- Working with database software to find ways to store, organise and manage data
- Troubleshooting
- Keeping databases up to date
- Helping with database design and development
- Managing database access
- Designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation
- Ensuring that databases meet user requirements
