Job summary

Cheshire phlebotomy services (CPS) provide phlebotomy services at multiple venues including Leighton Hospital, Macclesfield District General Hospital, Knutsford Community Hospital, Congleton war memorial hospital, Victoria Infirmary Northwich, and all Direct Access Localities.

The post holder must have access to a road worthy vehicle and a clean UK driving licence. Your car insurance should include business cover as the successful applicant may be asked to cover at all service locations, should the business require it.

Use of a vehicle and a UK driving licence is an essential aspect of the role; therefore, please do not apply if you do not have the essential criteria.

Main duties of the job

Provide a first point of contact to the department for patients wishing to book in for blood tests.

Provide a first point of contact for telephone enquiries regarding bookings.

Ensure that patients' blood request forms are stamped, organised, and up to date with correct points of ID information displayed.

Ensure that administrative tasks associated with patient connect - the booking system is all updated and correct effectively and efficiently.

Ensure that all documentation is ready for the clinical team.

The role involves handling sensitive pathology enquiries; therefore, a compassionate pleasant and welcoming disposition is essential.
