In addition, we support the care of children with complex health needs, working closely with colleagues from other specialties. UHNM is a Major Trauma Centre that serves the population of Staffordshire, Shropshire, South Cheshire and North Wales.

The post holder will be based at the Royal Stoke Hospital but may be requested to hold regular elective clinics at County Hospital, Stafford. The Royal Stoke Hospital has a dedicated Surgical Children's Ward (217), PICU and Children's theatres.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking fellowship trained candidates well versed in the generality of Paediatric Orthopaedics and Paediatric Orthopaedic Trauma. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to a 1:10 major trauma on call rota.

The Directorate works closely with the prestigious Keele Medical School and there will be an opportunity for the post holder to contribute to medical student teaching. We also have a vast network of allied health professionals.

The post holder will be expected to take an appropriate share in the management and administrative workload of the Department. All Consultants are involved in planning and developing the service.
