An exciting opportunity has arisen for a paediatric dietitian to support our well established and valued HEF service for UHNM.
You will work alongside the HEF Team lead and Dietetic Assistant to deliver the service to children in the community, while being based at the Staffordshire Children's Hospital at Royal Stoke.
The Paediatric Dietetic team has 12 team members and delivers a range of specialities including Gastroenterology, Neonates, CF, Diabetes as well as specialised inpatient and general outpatient care.
You will join a wider team of over 60 dietitians and dietetic assistants.
We are open to applications from candidates working partly or fully remotely, and this would give the post holder the opportunity to developthis aspect within the team. You will need to be able to attend the UHNM base for local induction and to collect IT equipment. The role is initially a 12 month fixed term contract, but may become permanent if it is successful in delivering a quality service.
Main duties of the job
This post provides highly specialised dietetic input to the paediatric Home Enteral Tube Feeding Service . The post holder is key member of the multidisciplinary teams which support babies, children and teenagers and their families/ carers who are home tube fed.
To provide dietetic care for the management of children with a variety of conditions who require tube feeding at home to provide expert and highly specialised skills, knowledge and advice in this area.
To lead the dietetic HEF team in the development, organisation and delivery of care within this area
To support the paediatric team lead in delivery of the children's services at UHNM
To provide highly specialist dietetic input to support children who require tube feeding.

To provide support to the development, implementation and audit of dietetic protocols and pathways for infants and children with specialties.

Produce and implement policies, evidence based protocols and guidelines on behalf of UHNM. To give specialist advice and participate in service development including pathways of care and clinical policies to optimise service provision.
