Job summary

An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Senior Overseas and Private Officer

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent people skills. You will work closely with team members, patients, clinical and non clinical staff. The post holder will ensure optimum and on-going performance in line with corporate objectives, NHS targets and best practice.

We are also offering a development opportunity from Band 4 to Band 5 on completion of AAT Diploma or equivalent experience.

With the opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship in Finance (AAT Diploma in professional accounting, or equivalent)

Main duties of the job

The post holder has responsibility for supporting and overseeing all aspects of the overseas patients and private patients functions in line with policies.

Have a key role and responsibility in supporting and undertaking all aspects of administration relating to overseas/private patients, including liaising with and giving advice to patients/clients regarding, for example, charges. Liaising with various disciplines, insurance companies, Consultants, Finance and Government departments.

Ensuring financial information is processed in accordance with timescales and legal requirements, interpreting these where necessary. Ensure procedures are in order to provide information for statutory returns through completion of their own work and through the co-ordination of the work of others. Be responsible for keeping accurate records, collating and reporting of financial data and ensuring that the Health Board is remunerated for all overseas activity.

Ensures that work is completed in line with financial timescales ensuring compliance with any legislative requirements issued by Department of Health, the Home Office and with international agreements.

In the absence of the Overseas and Private Patients Manager, be responsible for the day to day running of the service and management of the team.
