Job summary

Applications are 6 month posts, depending on experience, grade and preference of specialty. Appointments would be at alevel equivalent to junior depending on the level of previous training.These posts would suit doctors from the UK or abroad that may be at various stages of their career and would include:

Doctors who have completed their basic medical degree (MBBS) and the Foundation Programme or equivalent (currently holding full GMC registration), or 3 years of overseas continuous clinical experience post-qualification meeting the requirements on the Medical Training Initiative (MTI) scheme as per the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC) / post Professional Linguistic Assessment Board (PLAB) test passed with General Medical Council (GMC) registration (more junior resident)Doctors who have attained specialist status in any of the medical specialties and seek further specific experience and research opportunities (established practitioner).

The programme is standard for both UK and Overseas doctors, there being no differentiation or discrimination.

We are looking for the highest calibre and quality doctors. Such doctors are seeking to gain further experience, skills escalation, career progression and higher qualifications.

Main duties of the job

Key Areas/TasksThe post holder will be working with a team of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, Trust Doctors, Specialty Trainees, Core Trainees and Foundation Trainees. Each post has a generic clinical component in the relevant area. In addition the post holder will have an agreed experience in the specialty of their choice including outpatient clinics, ward cover, specialist inpatientreviews and procedures, audit and research. It is prudent to be a team player with excellent inter-personal skills.

The precise role within each team and the proportion of clinical time spent between the two components would depend on previous clinical experience and qualifications of the candidate and the specialty chosen. For candidates with more than 3 years of post-qualification experience, MRCP or equivalent qualifications, Senior Fellowship position can be offereddepending on assessment at interview as well as knowledge, skills and aptitude as well as previous competencies achieved in the specialty.
