Job summary

The University Hospital of North Midlands, Mid Cheshire and East Cheshire NHS Trusts are working collaboratively to form a Pathology network in line with a NHSI directive.

We are seeking applications from enthusiastic, highly motivated and confident individuals to join our Phlebotomy team as Phlebotomy Manager. The successful applicant would be expected to support the Lead Biomedical Scientist in the delivery of the Phlebotomy service at the Royal Stoke and County Hospitals alongside the community clinics.

The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations.

We offer a phlebotomy service in a range of locations across North Midlands

Main duties of the job

Based at Royal Stoke Hospital, the successful applicant will be expected to provide day to day management of the phlebotomy team.

The role will involve the day to day management of a team of phlebotomists to ensure standardized best practices are delivered at all locations. You should have experience of staff supervision and enjoy taking a proactive approach to problem solving.

Experience in all phlebotomy techniques is essential along with managerial/supervisory experience.

The successful applicant must enjoy working with people and possess goodcommunication skills. Attention to detail is important.

Strong IT skills are essential, along with experience of data entry and use of Microsoft Office applications.

Above all, you should have a mature attitude to work with the desire to use your leadership abilities, initiative and communication skills to provide an excellent service for our patients.Applicants will be required to use their own vehicle to travel to the variouscommunity locations for which traveling expenses will be reimbursed.

A 7am start will be required from the candidate.
