Job summary

The IM&T Senior Technical Support Engineer is responsible for providing a responsive technical service, undertaking the design, development & management of system & the installation of upgrades & new systems. Due to the highly technical nature of this post there will be also a requirement to undertake configuration, tuning, troubleshooting, recovery fault resolution & in-depth technical fault diagnosis & problem solving.

As the IM&T Senior Technical Support Engineer you will work in a team of engineers responsible for the Trusts business critical server & storage area network (SAN) infrastructure including Cloud technologies for UHNM.

This is a hands-on role & the ideal candidate will have excellent technical infrastructure skills, strong leadership & management experience. They will be used to working in a fast moving environment & be passionate about delivering top class support & project services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be part of a team responsible for providing a responsive technical service, undertaking the design, development and management of system and the installation of upgrades and new systems. Due to the highly technical nature of this post there will be also a requirement to undertake configuration, tuning, troubleshooting, recovery fault resolution and in-depth technical fault diagnosis and problem solving.

The post holder will be responsible for the Trusts business critical server and storage area network (SAN) infrastructure for the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. Using their extensive knowledge of IT systems to deliver a third line of support for all Trust ICT Services and to cascade high level specialist technical knowledge and advice to a wide range of people at all levels within the Trust in the form of training, documentation and Trust wide procedures.

  • MCSE / MCSA qualification or equivalent specialist IT training
  • Educated to Degree in a computer related discipline, or equivalent work experience

Desirable

  • CCNA / CCNP Cisco Network qualification
