Job summary
We are looking to attract an experience paediatric Diabetes dietitian to join our Paediatric team to cover a period of maternity leave. You will be working alongside another Paediatric Diabetes Dietitian to provide specialised care of the current caseload of 335 patients including; Type 1, Type 2 and MODY aged between 0 - 19 years old. Training will be provided as required for specialist areas including management of patients on Insulin pumps.
You will work closely with out Diabetes specialist nurses and supportive Consultant team.
We will consider applicants who wish to agile/ remote work from within the UK.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide specialist diabetes advise to children, young adults, their families and carers to support them managing their diabetes, This will include seeing newly diagnosed patients in hospital or their own homes. Liaising with and visiting schools and nurseries to support and educate staff, facilitating safe dietary care when outside the home.
Attendance at face to face clinic appointments with the service users and the MDT, these take place at Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital.
