Job summary

An exciting opportunity within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Directorate has arisen for an Operational Services Manager. The post-holder will be dynamic, organised and will work closely with the wider Directorate Management Team in ensuring efficient and effective operational management.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking to develop in a managerial capacity.

The post holder is responsible for the administrative, clerical and secretarial staff within the Directorate. You will gain a wide experience including involvement in complaints management, waiting list management and will assist the Directorate Management Team with daily operational issues.

Main duties of the job

This post offers an excellent opportunity either for development in gaining exposure to a wide range of operational issues within the directorate, or for an existing Operational Services Manager wanting a challenge in a new directorate. The Trauma Directorate is exciting and fast paced and includes elective and non-elective services for Trauma & Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery and Major Trauma.

We are looking for someone who has excellent inter-personal and communication skills, with the ability to forge and maintain relationships. The ability to manage a busy workload and to prioritise, quickly find solutions and to focus on critical issues when decision making is essential.
