Senior Training Fellow Elderly Care - County Hospital
Applications are invited for Senior Training Fellow to support our Medical Division in Older Adults. This post is available with immediate effect for 2 years in the first instance with a view to extend and will specifically support our inpatient wards
You will work under consultant supervision and within a dedicated team at all times. As a University hospital and a major tertiary centre, we offer a large variety of sub-specialty services providing an excellent learning environment. There will be requirement to work weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.
In order to be considered applicants must have FULL GMC Registration, Basic Life Support and have previous experience of working in the NHS.
Main duties of the job
Senior Fellows will have appropriate skills & experience to demonstrate in the chosen specialty minimum equivalent to ST3.
The post holder will be working with a team of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, Trust Doctors, Specialty Trainees, Core Trainees and Foundation Trainees. Each post has a generic clinical component in the relevant area. In addition the post holder will have an agreed experience in the specialty of their choice including outpatient clinics, ward cover, specialist in-patient reviews and procedures, audit and research. It is prudent to be a team player with excellent inter-personal skills, 4 or more years of experience in working preferably a rotation in different medical specialties, been working in Elderly Care team for at least a year. Experience of working at medical registrar level is desirable

- MBBS or equivalent

- Completion of MRCP
- Academic and extracurricular achievements ALS certification
Clinical Experience
Essential
- Foundation competencies or equivalent for those with full GMC registration
- 4 years continuous post-qualification experience in the relevant specialty meeting the pre-requisites of the Medical Training Initiative programme of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.
- Experience should involve participating in unselected acute medical shifts / on calls.
Desirable
- Senior Fellows will have appropriate skills & experience to demonstrate in the chosen specialty minimum equivalent to ST3.
