Band 6 - Practice Development Nurse
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced critical care nurse to join our Practice Development team.
The primary role of the post holder will be to deliver the education strategy for the theatre departments and ensure the provision of a progressive learning environment for all grades of staff employed within the theatre environment.
Main duties of the job
The post holder work with the clinical education team on the implementation of education, development plans, induction, mentoring and preceptorship and the on going professional development of all critical care staff. The post holder will assist in the delivery of robust programmes of education, and participate in audit to evaluate effectiveness and maintain standards of nursing care. The PDN will act as a credible and professional role model, empowering staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential.
The Practice Development Nurse will work closely with the senior nursing and medical teams to support and educate critical care staff.
