It's an exciting time within the pharmacy directorate, this year we are replacing our automated dispensing robot and implementing an electronic prescribing and medicines administration (EPMA) system. There really is no better time to join our department and gain valuable experience whilst leading the Clinical Pharmacy Technicians and support staff in the Network Services division.
At UHNM our network services includes cardiothoracic surgery and neurosurgery, the trust is recognised for our particular expertise in trauma, spinal surgery including complex orthopaedic surgery.
We have a fantastic development opportunity for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and highly experienced Pharmacy Technician to come and work at Royal Stoke Hospital. You will gain experience leading a team of Clinical Pharmacy Technicians within the Network Services Division.

Education and qualifications
Essential
- National BTEC or NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent)
- Nationally recognised Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification or included as part of the Pharmacy Technician qualification post 2022
- Current registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Desirable
- Formal management training and / or qualification
- Additional clinical pharmacy and / or medicines management accreditation(s) / qualification(s)
Experience
Essential
- Broad range of experience of ward based clinical services in a number of specialties as a Medicines Management Technician role
- Extensive experience of supervising and training staff including induction
- Experience of undertaking medicines related audits and data collection
- Experience of rostering and development of rotas
Desirable
- General management experience including HR management, objective setting, appraisal and recruitment of staff
- Use of EMIS Ascribe computer system
Skills, ability and knowledge

- Ability to manage staff and prioritise workload for the team and individuals (including self)
