Job summary

We require an enthusiastic and flexible Band 5 Gynae Nurse to join our team as part of our service expansion at the Central Treatment Suite (CTS) County site (University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust). Previous experience in Gynaecology outpatients, particularly Hysteroscopy and Colposcopy, would be an advantage but not essential. However a genuine interest in this area of care and future professional development is essential.

You will need to be a team player with good communication skills and an ability to adapt to new situations with a strong focus on providing excellent quality patient care within the Diagnostic treatment suite environment.

The post will predominantly be based in the treatment suite of the Diagnostic Unit, however, there may be a requirement to work in other clinical areas of the Trust including the Royal Stoke Hospital . Education opportunities post appointment will be available through the Professional Development Team.

Main duties of the job

  • The Post holder will be responsible for the assessment of the needs, development of programmes of care within the specialist gynaecology clinic and central treatment suite including assisting in the theatre environment.
  • To provide a high standard of clinical nursing within the ward / department
  • To manage a group of patients
  • To take charge of the ward when rostered and assessed as competent to take on the roles and responsibilities of leadership and supervision
  • To act as a role model to students and Nursing Assistants, Assistant Practitioners/trainees and Nursing Associates/trainees.
  • To present a positive, professional image of the organisation and of the nursing team
