Job summary

The post is for a full time Consultant Anaesthetist with a special interest in Vascular and Pre-assessment to work in conjunction with 69 Consultants, 9 Specialist, 7 Staff Grade 13 Speciality doctors. To provide a comprehensive anaesthetic service to the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing and maintaining a safe, robust anaesthetic service and will have a wide knowledge in all aspects of anaesthesia. Main duties of the job

To actively engage and participate in the delivery of a safe and effective Anaesthetic Services at the University Hospital of North Midlands (Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital).

To cover Vascular, General/Urology/CEPOD and Pre-assessment sessions for routine work and on call activities to cover CEPOD / Trauma / Maternity as on call consultant at Royal Stoke University hospital at UHNM NHS Trust.

To actively participate in clinical governance and quality improvement activities in the department

To actively participate in teaching, training and supervision of anaesthetic trainees and medical students from Keele Medical School.
