Would you like to partake in an apprenticeship programme supported by UHNM in partnership with Keele University?

The post holder will work at the University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust as an Apprentice Radiographer within the imaging directorate working as part of the general team workforce and undertaking clinical shifts as part of the team. The post holder will work alongside a multidisciplinary team whilst they train towards becoming a Radiographer. The post holder will be required to work at Royal Stoke University Hospital, County Hospital, Haywood Hospital and other peripheral community sites in all modalities.

The apprenticeship is ran in conjunction with Keele University and will require the post holder to study alongside working clinically in the department.

The successful applicant must undertake any formal or informal study and training required to fulfil the needs of the post.

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship the post holder will gain a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography and will be eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Diagnostic Radiographer.

Main duties of the job

The Imaging Directorate is excited to be offering several Apprentice Radiographer posts due to start in January 2024.

You will gain extensive workplace learning and practice in Imaging, supported by academic learning at Keele University leading to a BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography. This is a 3 year fixed term apprenticeship training post. Completion of the apprenticeship will give the post holder the skills required to embark on a career as a Diagnostic Radiographer. You will gain the skills and knowledge to continually learn, develop and use the evidence base to improve your professional practice.

As part of the Keele University application process, applicants will need to prepare a current CV and a personal statement explaining why they would be suitable for this apprentice opportunity. This will be required following successful appointment at interview.

Please note successful appointment at interview is conditional and is dependent upon acceptance to the Keele University course as per the entry requirements.
