The £350 million state-of-the-art hospital complex brings all the acute services (including Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery) to a single site. The Emergency Department offers modern facilities including state of the art diagnostics, an 8 bedded resus room, co-located children's emergency department and assessment unit.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work on the SHO level rota, help to provide 24 hour cover and will work approximately 43 hours per week with weekly clinical duties being worked as part of a "rolling" rota.

The post holder will gain a wide range of experience at Senior House Officer level in Emergency Medicine, in addition to specific experience in critical care and the care of major trauma. Some previous experience in A & E is essential and a recognised certification in Advanced Life Support is preferable. There will be Consultant, Specialty Doctor and Specialty Trainee available for advise/supervision at all times. During this time the post holder will work both in the minor injuries area, the trolley areas and will be expected to act as a resuscitation room doctor in times of need.
