Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and reliable individual to join our forward thinking team here within Surgery at theUniversity Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. We currently have a vacancy on the combined Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) and Surgical Ambulatory Care Unit (SACU). Both departments provide emergency unplanned care for General Surgical, Vascular, Urological, ENT, Plastics, MaxFax and Gynecological patients.
SAU/SACU are dynamic clinical areas that thrive on the daily challenges faced by emergency unplanned care, our team shows great commitment to providing high quality and patient focused care, delivered by a team of individual people with vision and dedication to this team ethos showing a great passion for providing a high standard of patient care .
SAU and SACU work hard to adhere to the trust's key values and places great emphasis on staff development and wellbeing and continued education with regular locally arranged study days to support qualified staff NMC revalidation. As a department we also proactively support and encourage student nurses, paramedics and medical students. In 2022 the department secured "Placement of the Year 20022" awarded by Keele University.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and reliable individual to join our forward thinking team On SAU and SACU we provide emergency unplanned care for General Surgical, Vascular, Urological, ENT, Plastics, MaxFax and Gynaecological patients.
As an unplanned care department we manage all emergency referrals from GP's, Walk in Centres and A&E departments . As a team we assess and implement care management plans up to admission or discharge from hospital. SAU/SACU also provide pre operative care for emergency surgical patients.
