Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 2 Nursing Assistant to join Ward 111.
Ward 111 is a highly specialised, multi skilled surgical ward. Do you have an interest in delivering high quality care in a dynamic and forward thinking busy ward?
As a nursing assistant within this area, you will be trained to have extensive skills to support a highly motivated and established working team. Specialities including ENT, plastic, maxilo facial, ophthalmology, breast and general surgical patients. If you have the qualities to join this team and feel you can face the challenge of our unique clinical area offering both emergency assessment and inpatient care for a wide range of specialities, then we would welcome your application.
Shifts do include early, late, night and weekends and you would be required to do all shifts. Shifts are 12 hours in duration or 6 - 7.5 hours depending on your need.

Main duties of the job
- Maintaining patients pressure areas
- Ensuring patient safety
- Providing nutrition to patients with different and complex needs
- Helping patients with elimination
- Assessing patients and escalating concerns to members of the team
- Working well within a team
- Being professional and having good communication skills with all members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Completing and providing patients care to a high standard
- Reliability
- Caring for patients that have a tracheostomy in place.
- Caring for patients that have undergone significant life changing surgery.
