Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Critical care for a permanent Senior Sister/Charge Nurse for Quality & Patient Safety to support the Critical Care Matron Team in managing and monitoring assigned aspects of patient safety activity and to assist in the continuous improvement of patient safety, building on the foundations of a safer culture and safer systems in accordance with the NHS Patient Safety Strategy (July 2019).

Main duties of the job

As a key member of the Critical Care Nursing Team you will play a critical role in supporting the Matrons with the Quality & safety agenda specifically the reduction of avoidable patient harm and providing advice and assistance to the department teams regarding quality & safety issues. In this role you will work closely with the Divisional Quality & Safety Manager and to improve patient safety and experience. Applicants should be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in quality improvement methodology and have recent experience of involvement in patient care/safety improvement projects.Investing in the health and wellbeing of our staff is really important to us.
