Job summary
The post holder will develop and maintain multiple MS databases to support the development of the Trusts in house developed systems, as well as support the business critical patient care systems for the organisation, that are key to maintaining the continuity of the Trust's business and operational processes.
Liaises with third party suppliers and staff across all levels of the Trust in the planning, design and development of highly complex database system solutions.
Main duties of the job
- To create and manage MS databases including Table management, procedures, views, indexes and triggers
- Working with database software to find ways to store, organise and manage data
- Troubleshooting
- Keeping databases up to date
- Helping with database design and development
- Managing database access
- Designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation
- Ensuring that databases meet user requirements
- Liaising with programmers, applications/operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff
- Managing database security/integrity
- Implementing security measures
- Defining objectives through consultation with staff at all levels
- Testing and modifying databases to ensure that they operate reliably
- Archiving data.
- Able to run basic traces using SQL profiler
- Create and maintain existing SQL jobs
