Job summary

Systems Administrator

The post holder will be responsible for the day to day management and administration of the Telecommunications and Operator Service online systems which covers a wide range of general and specialised administration tasks.

This role is office based at Royal Stoke Hospital, there is a requirement to travel between sites to maintain bleep management.

There is a large amount of data imputing involved and the post holder must be articulate, proactive, able to multitask and prioritise their workload.

The post holder will be responsible for the systems administration of a wide range of computer systems and specialised equipment used in the delivery of Telecommunications Services. This includes producing reports, extracting and analysing data, programming systems and providing expert advice and information to customers and other professional services.

The post holder will provide general management support to the Telecommunications Management Team and represent the Telecommunications Manager during absence.

The post holder works closely with Trust staff at all levels providing expert advice and training in the use of the systems where necessary

Main duties of the job

  • Communicates telecommunication matters which may be seen as complicated by non-Telecoms / IM&T staff.
  • Experienced in compiling reports from a range of systems including monthly usage reports/analytics Vodafone mobiles, Precision call records, Operator call stats ARC
  • Maintaining the online directory, supporting the doctor's rotation and the management and coordination of bleeps and pagers including the administration of the databases and a requirement to travel between sites
  • Maintains close links with divisions to ensure Ward moves, starters, leavers and staff moving within the Trust are maintained across the telecommunications systems including the telecoms directory, super-directory the Netcall integrated voice recognition solution.
  • Supports the coordination of contractors and liaises with Trust departments to ensure that installation work is carried out based on the needs of the customer and environmental requirements.
  • Ensures the effective flow of information within the department to maintain communication between team members.
  • The post holder will have knowledge and experience in the working practices of a large customer focused operator service.
  • The post holder will be required to attend training in bespoke applications.
  • A broad knowledge of the Microsoft office applications and excellent data entry skills
  • Have a good understanding of telecommunications terminology and have knowledge of telecommunications support systems such as call management.
