Job summary
The role of Director of Midwifery for University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Foundation Trust represents an important clinical leadership role for a major acute and community provider at one of the largest single site providers of maternity care with a level 3 Neonatal Unit. In joining our Childrens, Women & Diagnostics Division you will play a critical part in the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate maternity services working with a committed team delivering 6500 births a year.
Main duties of the job
As Director of Midwifery, you will have a direct reporting line to the board in conjunction with the Chief Nurse and will set the strategic direction for maternity services. This is a pivotal role for developing maternity services and in collaboration with Neonatal colleagues, across the trust and working collaboratively across the system.
The role involves working in partnership with other organisations across the STP and the post holder will develop and maintain a network of mutually beneficial relationships with external partners. This is with the aim of taking forward national polices for women across the STP and developing a long-term strategic vision that enables high quality and sustainable services contributing to the provision of high quality care, improved outcomes and improved family experiences
