The Dermatology department is seeking to appoint a Specialty Doctor. The Trust invites applications which will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to join an excellent team which has good links with the Plastic Surgery Department here at UHNM and at County Hospital Stafford.

The Dermatology department is seeking to appoint a Specialty Doctor. The Trust invites applications which will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to join an excellent team which has good links with the Plastic Surgery Department here at UHNM and at County Hospital Stafford.
The post-holders will be expected to participate in sessions at both main sites, the Royal Stoke University Hospital and the County Hospital, Stafford, and with the other Dermatologists will provide a dermatology service for the population of Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford. This includes all aspects of diagnosis, management and treatment together with ensuring the proper functioning of the department.
About us
The Trust consists of two sites, the larger Royal Stoke University Hospital in Stoke on Trent and the smaller County Hospital situated in Stafford, about 17 miles south of Stoke. Critical Care services are only based in Royal Stoke University Hospital. The £350 million state-of-the-art hospital complex at the Royal Stoke site opened in March 2013 bringing all acute services (including Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery) to a single site.
UHNM employs 10,300 staff based across the Royal Stoke University Hospital and the County Hospital sites. The on-site Keele Undergraduate Medical School opened in September 2002.
UHNM delivers general acute services for approximately 700.000 people living in and around Staffordshire. We are also the Major Trauma Center for 3 million people in a wider area including neighbouring counties and North Wales.

The successful applicant will join a current team of 6 including one Consultant, Senior Medical Practitioners along with a unit of dedicated Dermatology nurses and Clinical Nurse Specialists. The successful applicant will play a part in the Skin MDT and the department has close links to the Plastic surgery, Oncology and histopathology units and the Consultant and Senior Medical Practitioners are members of the Specialist Skin MDT unit. The team participates in outpatient clinics, theatre sessions and Ward rounds at Royal Stoke and in the new skin department at County which also includes a minor operating procedure suite.
