Job summary
We are looking for a committed Therapy Radiographer to join our friendly, enthusiastic and patient focused Radiotherapy Team in our new Cancer Centre. The new purpose built Cancer Centre, opened in July 2009, houses state of the art equipment, providing scope for technological and personal advancement.
The department is committed to the training and development of its staff and you will be given opportunities to extend your skills. The department expects staff to Continuously Professionally Develop, supporting this through the PDP appraisal system.
The department has a full range of equipment including 4 Varian Linear Accelerators including 1 Ethos Linac all with OBI, Gulmay Orthovoltage / Superficial Unit, Siemens CT Scanner, and Brachytherapy suite, networked with the Eclipse planning system. Mould room services are radiographer led.
This is a fixed term opportunity due to some additional funding being provided for 1 year to help achieve some service development.
Main duties of the job
To work as a member of the Therapeutic Radiography team rotating through all sections of the department, under the supervision of the section leader To deliver a high quality, accurate radiotherapy service, which is responsive to the social and healthcare needs of the individual patient To deputise for advanced practitioners as required To supervise junior staff and students
