Job summary
The post holder will contribute to the development of the ward team and support the Ward Manager in the delivery of a consistently high quality and cost-effective service caring for 25 Respiratory patients. The role will include the need to deputise for the Ward Manager in her absence on shift as required.
Mary Ward is a diverse team of Registered Nurses, Registered Nursing Associates and Clinical Support Workers, from different cultural and clinical backgrounds. We offer support and guidance to all the staff working on it and there is a strong development approach taken to staff career progression.
The Ward Manager, Sara Houghton and her existing senior nursing team have experience in developing newly qualified nurses, students and new starters to Respiratory.
It is key you are enthusiastic, self-motivated and an experienced nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience with a sound background in acute medicine.
We are looking for candidates with previous ITU / HDU /ED or acute medical / Respiratory experience to join us, training will be given with a 4 week induction, where shadow opportunities will be available to understand the Patient flow and Operational roles within the department and the trust.
The ideal candidate must have experience in being an established Nurse in charge on the ward in their current clinical area and an understanding of the Role of the Band 6 or be in a current band 6 post.
