Job summary

The post attracts 10 PAs and will include an on-call commitment for emergency general surgery (currently 1 in 10).

Job description

Job responsibilities

The candidate will be capable of performing on-call for Emergency General Surgery at Consultant Level. The elective work includes mainly laparoscopic cholecystectomy and hernia repair. Additional activity in out-patients, theatres and endoscopy can be arranged to suit the experience of the successful candidate. 60-80% of laparoscopic cholecystectomies are performed as day cases. Emergency cholecystectomies are supported by NCEPOD.
