Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic SHO with an interest in T & O to join our team. We have a purpose built Trauma Unit and Elective orthopaedic ward. We have 13 Consultants and an Associate Specialist who each have their own specialist areas of Orthopaedic expertise. We are a busy dynamic unit.
Main duties of the job
This is a fixed term appointment for a period of one year within Trauma and Orthopaedics. Appointees will be expected to participate in the cross covered on-call rota with the ENT department.Applicants would need to be fully registered practitioners and have an interest in medical education.

The post-holders will have the opportunity to continue to develop their orthopaedic skills and attend the local teaching. Other opportunities to enhance your portfolio through teaching, audit and research projects will be available to motivated appointees.
As part of the hospitals commitment to providing a Hospital at Night Service, this post works as part of a combined surgical rota. The post holder will be expected to work in their own specialty (Trauma and Orthopaedics) during the normal working day shift, they will work a 24 week fixed day and night on call rota cross covering with ENT.
The out of hours cover will have support from non-resident surgical and ENT registrars, a T&O registrar, Consultants and the remaining members of the Hospital at night team (Nurse night coordinator and medical on-call team resident SpR, SHO and HO).
