Job summary
South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust are looking to appoint a full time, fixed term Locum Consultant for Anaesthetics to cover maternity leave.
Main duties of the job
The Department has developed the role of the Duty Consultant to raise the priority of NCEPOD and Trauma surgery during extended weekday working hours. To this end, existing Consultants and new appointees will be allocated to full-day sessions to improve the assessment of patients for and delivery of anaesthesia for expedited, urgent and immediate surgery.
This role will be included as programmed activity on Consultant job plans. Participating Consultants will be allocated to a regular day of the week (Monday to Friday) from 08:00 to 20:30 (3.25 PA). New appointees will be involved in the continuing development of this service.

Anaesthetic sessions are Theatre based and will comprise of Orthopaedics, General Surgery including Breast, ENT, Urology, Gynaecology and Maxillofacial specialties.
