Job summary
We are excited to announce the Trauma & Orthopaedic department are looking for a motivated, caring, team orientated individual to work as part of the established SWAT Team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop this patient focused service and ensure safe, successful early discharge from the hospital and support patients through their recovery back at home.

We are looking for a committed Technical Instructor/Assistant Practitioner (band 4) to support the Clinical Lead and Ward Manager to provide a hybrid acute and community service to manage patients from admission to the acute hospital through to their management back at home in the community.
All staff members are supported to develop their clinical and leadership skills by the visible senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be mentored closely, but will once confident work autonomously seeing patients both in the acute and community settings. It is helpful to have experience of orthopaedics and / or community patient care.

Main duties of the job
The role of the Band 4 Technical Instructor / Assistant Practitioner is to deliver high quality, caring, compassionate patient care. The post holder will support the SWAT Team in managing trauma & orthopaedic patients, providing a high standard multi-disciplinary service in both acute and community settings, including the orthopaedic wards and home environments, over a 7-day service.
This will involve undertaking assessment, implementation, and evaluation of patient care needs for a defined group of patients under the indirect supervision of a registered professional in their specialist area. The post holders are required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard of care within South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.
