Job summary
Band 3 Infant Feeding Support Worker - 22.5 hours per week.
The primary responsibility of the Infant Feeding Support Worker is to provide Infant feeding support to parents and their families during pregnancy and the early post-natal period, offering maximum support within the first 8 weeks after birth when breastfeeding is more likely to cease. Working within the Health Visiting service in Warwickshire, however based in Rugby.
Would you like to be part of a UNICEF Baby Friendly accredited service in Warwickshire? Are you enthusiastic, passionate, skilled and knowledgeable in infant/breast feeding support? If so, we would like to hear from you. We require someone who has completed the 2-day UNICEF breastfeeding management and who has at least 1 years' experience supporting breastfeeding parents and their families.
The support provided can consist of telephone, virtual, home visits and face to face group/clinic. Your base will be the Orchard Centre in Rugby, however travel may be expected to other areas of Warwickshire.
Full driving licence essential.
Working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
Main duties of the job
The Service works in close collaboration with its local authority and voluntary and community sector partners in order to ensure that health priorities are embedded across the range of provision to achieve improved outcomes for children and young people in line with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, Saving Babies Lives, Better Births, Every Child Matters, Change for Children, Choosing Health, The National Service Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services and UNICEF Baby Friendly.
