Job summary
The Rehabilitation Department continues to develop and consists of four Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine (CRM) and one Specialist Grade Doctor (SGD) in Neurorehabilitation Medicine (this post).It is expected that the candidate for the SGD will be forward-thinking and innovative in the delivery of the rehabilitation service, by demonstrating their abilities in capably leading a highly experienced multidisciplinary team.
The department has a Clinical Director, who is supported by an Associate Clinical Professor and Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation.
The Trust is highly supportive of CERU's National standing. This is evidenced by the continuous support and extensive investment in the development process, leading to achievement of Level 1 national service status. CERU was commissioned by NHS England in 2013, as a Level 1 specialist Neurological Rehabilitation service provider.
Main duties of the job
Specialist Grade Doctor in Neurorehabilitation Medicine , with clinical responsibilities for inpatients and outpatients work. This post will report directly to the Clinical Director and Consultant in Rehabilitation medicine, Dr Okirie.
This post will be directly employed by SWUFT and the role will primarily be focused on supporting the delivery of inpatient care on Allsopp Ward. He/she will also have additional sectional responsibilities in delivering Spasticity Outpatient clinic and one further session in 3rd sector at Castel Froma.
The successful SGD will also participate in the Consultant on call rota.
