Job summary

This is an exciting time to join the Emergency division pool of General Physicians in Warwick. We are a forward-thinking Trust who has been recognized nationally for our work on patient pathways and integration across the health and social care economy. In addition to our acute services, we provide a full range of community services. The trust is affiliated with providing education needs for students from the Buckingham and Warwick Medical Schools.

Main duties of the job

The post is to fill a vacancy within the Endocrine and Diabetes department to support their general medical and acute medical obligations. We welcome applications from General Physicians with special interest in other medical specialties including acute medicine and will support the candidate with required opportunities to strengthen their case for Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration.

Job responsibilities

Joining a team of seven other consultants and nurse specialists, the new appointee will provide in-patient care for general medical patients across our general medical wards and acute medical footprint including weekend working requirement currently at 1 in 7 weeks. Supporting and providing leadership to the recently opened Medical Day Case Unit will be an opportunity for the appointee. The non-specific symptom pathway is being drawn up and the appointee is expected to support this outpatient clinic once a week. There will be opportunity for the candidates to develop sub specialty interests and services in line with the service needs.
