Job summary
An exciting opportunity to apply for a CSW/Therapeutic activity organiser has become available. You would be working 20hrs per week, 4 hours a day Monday to Friday, late morning to early afternoon.
As well as including therapeutic activities for our patients to actively stimulate them psychologically and physically, the post would include some clinical skills based upon activities of daily living. Experience with dementia patients is desirable.
We are a supportive friendly team on the Nicol unit which is a community rehabilitation ward caring for mainly elderly patients requiring a step up or step down facilities. We offer rehabilitation, palliative care and admission prevention beds.
We are looking for a person who is enthusiastic, dynamic, highly motivated, and who is committed to giving high quality care. Main duties of the job
The Activities Coordinator/Clinical Support Worker role will undertake high quality, caring and compassionate personal care and associated duties under the direction and supervision of the registered professional and working as part of the multi-disciplinary team. As part of this role the Clinical Support Worker/Activities coordinator will facilitate therapeutic activity sessions for patients.
As an Activities Co-ordinator/Clinical support worker (AC/CSW) you make a valuable and important contribution to the delivery of high quality healthcare in the Trust. Your role is to ensure that our patients are entertained and have individualised therapeutic activities provided to keep their morale and spirits up. You will also be expected to support the team in the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate care to patients and their relatives. You will forge an important relationship with our volunteers to support with therapeutic activities. We like to celebrate special occasions with our patients, for example, birthdays, Easter, Christmas etc. This job description is to be read in conjunction with the person specification for this particular job.
