Quality Support Manager

We are looking for candidates with excellent written and verbal communication skills, dedication and the ability to prioritise workload. An understanding of the NHS is essential, plus proven experience of using Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The successful candidate will work as part of the compliance team working on a variety of projects to monitor and improve quality and key performance indicators, having the opportunity to work with a range of managers and clinicians across the organisation; as such we are looking for applicants who are enthusiastic, have a positive attitude, lead by personal example and can demonstrate professional and personal behaviours that quickly earn the respect of all colleagues Trust wide. Main duties of the job

To ensure evidence is collected through audit, data analysis and monitoring of action plans to ensure the Trust can demonstrate compliance with its policies, procedures and guidelines and performance indicators.

Lead the evidence required to achieve compliance with external bodies, in particular the Care Quality Commission, Clinical Commissioning Group and any other external monitoring bodies.

To coordinate the submission for CQUIN reporting.

Working with the Head of Governance and Governance Team, develop and produce policies, procedures and guidelines, making sure they are implemented, monitored and reviewed to ensure compliance with the Care Quality Commission and any other external monitoring bodies.

Main Duties

Lead the Trusts preparation for external assessment, audit and monitoring of the Trusts Standards of Care particularly those relating to Care Quality Commission, West Midlands Quality Review Service and Quality Assurance Inspections.

Monitor the Trusts progress against visits from External Agencies including the Care Quality Commission and working with the Quality Assurance Manager prepare reports for the relevant Trust committees i.e. Divisional Governance Committees, Clinical Governance Committees and Board of Directors.

When external assessments are required ensure that any assessment day(s) in line with the requirements set out by the auditing body are organised.

Working with Divisional, Ward and Department leads ensure that the required documentary evidence is provided to Assessors in the correct format within the timescales set by external auditors and assessors.

Ensure that action plans resulting from the working groups and external assessments are implemented and monitored.

Ensure that the owners of the action plans are aware that actions are not being met by the action date and ensure that action plans are reported to the appropriate group/committee in the time frames agreed.

Work with leads of individual elements of multi-agency action plans to ensure that all elements are delivered within the specified time frame.

Work with leads to ensure evidence is compliant and submitted on time to support CQUIN reporting; escalating concerns to the Quality Assurance Manager when identified.

Contribute to the production of the quarterly governance reports.

Work with the Quality Assurance Manager and trust staff to produce the annual Quality Report.

Working with Leads develop and produce policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure patient/ staff/ carers/ visitor safety and compliance with the Care Quality Commission and any other external monitoring bodies; producing it accurately and professionally in line with corporate style.

Working with the Head of Governance and the Governance team to make sure policies, procedures and guidelines are implemented, monitored and reviewed when necessary.

Continuously review and maintain efficient processes for monitoring Health Standards.

Provide training at Corporate Induction and where necessary an ongoing basis or ad hoc basis in relation to ensuring quality standards are met.

Attend and play a major role in divisional groups as a representative of the team.

Line manage Project Support Officer and members of the Compliance Unit (to include undertaking annual appraisal).

Communication and Relationship Skills

To communicate with a wide range of personnel internal and external to the Trust.

Work with clinicians and managers at all levels to gain agreements.

To support the implementation, development and maintenance of departmental IT systems.

Work with wards/departments/teams to create functional intranet pages, uploading items to the intranet where necessary; once themselves trained, train others on the uploading of documents to the intranet and basic formatting of intranet pages.

Undertake to maintain and develop skills and qualifications through means identified during appraisal process. Maintain portfolio of evidence to support this.

To be responsible for the development and delivery of the Compliance Unit Annual Audit Plan.

Work with members of the team to develop and implement project data collection systems that will provide accurate and timely data.
