Job summary

The Clinical Support Worker - Bank employees are on a zero hours contract giving the flexibility for staff to work the shifts around their own personal commitments. We have opportunities across our main hospital sites - Warwick, Stratford and Leamington Rehabilitation Hospital.

A minimum of 6 months care experience is essential. Full training will be provided, you will need to be reliable, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual. You must possess excellent communication skills and be extremely adaptable to changing situations. It is essential that you are punctual and work well independently and within a team environment, as well as working under Trust Policies.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Support Worker's spend their careers helping doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals. These positions are hands-on and this means being in constant contact with sick or injured people throughout the working day. Under the supervision and direction of qualified nursing staff, healthcare assistants carry out a wide range of duties to care for, support, and provide information to patients and their families.

Tasks you may be asked to undertake include:

  • Looking after the physical comfort of patients, for example providing and supporting a patient with personal care such as washing, dressing and toileting also assisting with eating and drinking
  • Keeping departments clean and tidy, for example cleaning equipment and making and changing beds
  • Taking and recording basic observations such as blood pressure and temperature
  • There will be an element of documentation involved and CSW's are required to keep the Nurse or Senior Carer informed about any changes or concerns about patients.

  • To carry out duties as specified within the Trusts approved core task list for Clinical Support Workers/Health Care Assistants.
  • To report to the registered professional any patient who gives cause for concern or any observed changes in the client or patients condition.
  • Provide and deliver a high standard of individualised care under the direction and supervision of the registered professional.
  • To report all care that has been given to patients within the team to a registered Professional
  • To accurately document all care delivered to patients, countersigned by a registered professional, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
