Anaesthesia with an interest in Intensive Care Medicine

Due to a retirement and staffing changes within the department we would like to invite applications for a Consultant post at Warwick Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Consultant Anaesthetist With an Intensive Care Medicine

The successful applicants will be expected to participate in the ICU Consultant non-resident on call rota which currently incorporates 1:8 out of hour's commitments. This system is subject to review in the future as training allocations, and out of hours duty requirements alter.

About us

The Trust is a busy District General Hospital, which provides a variety of surgical specialties catering for a high number of elective patients. It has a 7 bedded combined HDU / ICU unit and delivers an Outreach service 24/7. The Anaesthetic department has been ACSA accredited on a yearly basis since 2016.

Job responsibilities

In association with all Consultant Anaesthetists, the successful candidate will carry shared responsibility for the organisation and operation of all aspects of clinical and supporting work of the anaesthetic department.

The post is offered on the basis of 10 programmed activities (PA) as below:

Direct Clinical Care as part of the daytime ICU Consultant rota and the non-resident Consultant on call.

The daytime ICU rota will incorporate 9 Intensivists and provides clinical cover over a two week period. General Anaesthetic sessions are also incorporated into each individual job plan.
