Job summary
An exciting career opportunity has arisen in our ever expanding, high quality unit within the Emergency Division the Medical Day Case Unit at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Band 8a).
MDCU opened in July 2022 and has continued to evolve. The aim of the unit is to prevent hospital admissions, reduce A&E attendance and improve patient experience. We are now very excited to be able to offer substantive positions within our unit. The role provides specialist assessment and management of patients in multiple specialities. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop new clinical skills and knowledge.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will exercise advanced clinical skills, levels of judgement, discretion and decision-making in the continued development and provision of care needs across services within Warwickshire. The post holder will lead on providing expert nursing care and symptom management. The post holder will demonstrate safe, clinical decision making, including assessment and diagnostic skills in collaboration with the local and tertiary medical teams and the wider MDT.
You will be part of the MDCU team and have the ability to work efficiently with good organisational skills, you will be required to work on your own initiative contributing to the smooth running of a busy department.
