Job summary
The Shipston on Stour community nursing team are looking to recruit a self-motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic Band 4 Nursing Associate to join our friendly team covering Shipston, Wellesbourne and the surrounding villages.
As a Nurse Associate you will be educated to Foundation Degree Level, be registered and have your NMC Pin. An up to date knowledge of the NHS and current clinical experience are vital for this role.
Lots of our patients have long term conditions and complex health needs. Working with us you could gain skills in a number of areas ranging from wound care management, catheter care, rehabilitation, IV therapies and end of life care.
You need to be flexible, have your own transport and be able to travel.
We have well established community nursing teams so you will be well supported within the role. We fully support continuous professional development to advance your clinical skills and meet your personal career goals.
Main duties of the job
The nursing associate has a breadth of knowledge across the lifespan and across the fields of nursing, providing holistic and person centred care and support for people of all ages and in a variety of settings. The nursing associate works independently under the leadership of registered nurses, working within the sphere of nursing and care and within all aspects of the nursing process.
Nursing associates are equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a nursing associate and will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct.
The following criteria identify the core components of the roles, responsibilities and accountabilities of nursing associates. They identify what nursing associates can contribute to the health and wellbeing of patients and service users, and apply across all health and care settings. Your role will be to provide care to patients by bridging the gap between our Community Support Workers and Registered Nurses. You will support the community nurses by undertaking a wide range of duties that will result in better care for the patients. This will include administering medication, taking observations and assessing patients so the most effective treatment can commence.
In the community setting you can expect to gain a wide range of experience that differs to the acute setting. The Nurse Associate will be a member of the Integrated Health Team and will undertakes professional duties in the clients homes and clinics to ensure provision of high standard nursing care and health promotion. You will work to professional boundaries and provide comprehensive health care that is sensitive to the needs of the local population.
