An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Nurse on Willoughby Ward. We are looking for a dynamic Registered Nurse that has a special interest in Gastro Intestinal surgery to join an established team within the Elective Division.
Willoughby is an acute ward with 24 beds and specialises in lower gastrointestinal surgery.
Willoughby normally specialises in pre and post-operative nursing care of elective and emergency bowel surgery patients including stoma care and managing patients with epidurals, PCAs and central lines. Due to Covid-19 Willoughby have adapted their surgical skills to look after patients admitted via the emergency pathway. You will have the opportunity to take care of patients both pre and post operatively after emergency surgery and develop acute surgical nursing skills.
Various hours and shift patterns will be considered.
Main duties of the job
You will be working as part of a professional team to deliver a high standard of patient care.
You will need to have evidence of continued professional development and have an interest in surgery, however experience is not essential.
To deliver a high standard of nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or medical treatment. The post holders will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, and implementation and evaluation of the programme of the care. The post holders are required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard of nursing care within South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust
