Job summary
This vacancy will be for the Exeter EMD Team Leader holding pool. The role of the EMD Team Leader is a highly visible role within the EOC, reporting to the EOC Duty Officer and maintaining responsibility for the day to day management of the EMD's on shift.
Please note, this vacancy is ring-fenced to EMDs with 12 month's experience call taking and experience of mentoring. Interviews will take place on the 27th April for successful applicants.
Main duties of the job
The EMD Team Leader will have responsibility for day to day delivery, performance and operational delivery for call handling within the EOC. They will be responsible for providing assurance to the EOC Duty Officer regards call handling operational delivery and performance.
The EMD Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring safe, effective and high quality call handling, including assisting with planning, resourcing and delivery of performance in accordance with agreed Trust process and policies, ensuring that a culture of excellence and consistent high quality performance is adopted on shift.
The EMD Team Leader will provide day to day line management, supervision and support to the Emergency Medical Dispatchers (EMDs) and Lead EMDs in the form of performance appraisals, developmental feedback, regular 1 to 1, sickness management, team meetings, break allocation and other administrative process as required. The EMD Team Leader will also be required to provide welfare support, advice on the telephone triage (MPDS), process and procedure, SOP application, management of breaks and key system usage.
The EMD Team Leader will be competent and confident to mentor staff and support with any identified learning needs, working in close conjunction with the Quality team and the EOC Duty Officer team as necessary.
