Job summary
We are pleased to offer an exciting secondment opportunity within the Fleet & Equipment Team, available until the end of March 2026.
This role will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the Vehicle Commissioning and Decommissioning process. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring vehicles are prepared and retired in line with operational standards, safety requirements, and business needs
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a critical operational function and gain valuable experience in fleet management processes.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for supporting the Vehicle Commissioning Manager in the delivery of the Vehicle commissioning / decommissioning process
The key function is to support the Vehicle commissioning manager in the commissioning and decommissioning/disposal of Trust vehicles and ensuing that they are prepared for use clean, fully stocked and that essential equipment including communications equipment and medical devices are installed and functioning correctly
Responsible for supporting on the roadworthiness, clinical and overall readiness of new vehicles and equipment in line with the stated procedures of the Trust.
To ensure the promotion of a positive image of the Trust in terms of appearance and cleanliness.
To ensure that the vehicles meet the Department of Health Guidelines for Infection Control and the Trust Infection Control Policy when the vehicle preparation process is completed
