Vehicle Commissioning Manager (INTERNAL ONLY)

Job summary

We are pleased to offer an exciting secondment opportunity within the Fleet & Equipment Team, available until the end of March 2026.

This role will be responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the Vehicle Commissioning and Decommissioning process. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring vehicles are prepared and retired in line with operational standards, safety requirements, and business needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the commissioning of new vehicles, ensuring readiness for deployment.
• Managing the decommissioning of vehicles, including safe disposal.
• Coordinating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to maintain timelines and compliance.
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting on progress and issues.

Main duties of the job

To manage on a day to day base the operation of the Falfield site

The key function is to ensure that all new Trust vehicles are received in and prepared for operational use ensuring that they are all clean, fully stocked and that essential equipment including communications equipment and medical equipment is installed and functioning correctly

Responsible for ensuring the roadworthiness, clinical and overall readiness of the vehicles and equipment in line with the stated procedures of the Trust.

To ensure the promotion of a positive image of the Trust in terms of appearance and cleanliness.

To support the work of the trust volunteer team in the collection and delivery of new Trust Fleet

To support the work of the trust volunteer team in the collection and delivery of vehicle for decommissioning

To ensure that the vehicles meet the Department of Health Guidelines for Infection Control and Trust Infection Control Policy
