Project Support Officer - Volunteering & Community Services

Job summary

The post holder will provide comprehensive support to the Volunteering and Community Services Team in the delivery of the Community Resilience Project for Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest as funded by a grant from NHS Charities Together. The role holder will assist the Community Engagement and Training Officers and Volunteering & Community Services Managers with the timely, efficient and effective delivery of workstreams as part of the Community Resilience Project.

Main duties of the job

The development of processes to be used by the team in increasing the emergency readiness and availability of Public Access Defibrillators including managing orphaned defibrillators; managing unchecked defibrillators; reducing the time taken to make defibrillators live following allocation; processes around the repatriation of defibrillators.

Managing the development, launch and operationalizing of a Community Ambassador Role in all counties across the Trust focused on areas of health inequality.

Developing monitoring, tracking and reporting of progress and performance of all of the component workstreams making up the Community Resilience Programme.

Developing, measuring and reporting against agreed KPIs - both internal and those defined by NHS Charities Together as the sponsoring charity.

Servicing project updates for the Charity Committee and the Operations Oversight Group and for NHS Charities Together in conjunction with the South Western Ambulance Head of Charity.

Acting as first point of contact for enquiries from end users.

Managing elements of the project.

Supporting performance improvement.

Supporting Workstream Managers by developing and managing project related documentation, undertaking quality assurance checks and maintaining key templates up to date, such as the action log, risk, issues and lessons-learned registers.

Supporting the creation and dissemination of slide deck presentations.

Essential

  • Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Current, clean driving licence
  • Project delivery experience

Desirable

  • Experience of working with partner organisations and other ambulance Trusts.
  • Certified PRINCE2 Practitioner o equivalent project management qualification

Previous experience

  • Significant project management experience in the implementation and support of complex systems
  • Significant experience of successfully managing at least ONE complex project
  • Significant experience in use of standard Microsoft Office products and Project Management tools
