Job summary
The Deputy Head of EOCs- Clinical Operations and Safety is a key role in the EOC Leadership team and as such will be a role model for operational staff. Reporting to the Head of EOCs: Clinical Operations, the Deputy Head of EOC has operational responsibility for the efficient and effective day to day management and smooth running of the EOC.
A key part of this role is line management responsibility for the line management of EOC CTLs, ensuring a consistent and highly visible team is developed, with a strong ethos of high quality patient care and a positive & inclusive culture.
The Deputy Head of EOCs- Clinical Operations and Safety will be responsible for assisting the Head of EOCs: Clinical Operations in delivering high quality patient care provided by the Trust, being responsible for ensuring consistent operational working practices and joint working in conjunction with their Deputy Head of EOC counterparts, and other key stakeholders such as the EOC Quality Assurance Manager and QDPL's to make sure best practice is identified and implemented and that the ambition of "one virtual EOC" is fully realised, whilst delivering key performance indicators including H&T, Sickness monitoring, PWBC compliance, team 121's etc.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with senior leaders across both EOCs, the Deputy Head of Clinical Operations and Safety will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high qualityclinical care, that is provided in a safe and consistent manner across both Clinical Hubs.The Deputy Head of Clinical Operations and Safety will provide expert clinical advice andsupport where necessary to the Clinical Hub Quality Assurance Manager and otherrelevant parties.
Clinical Operations and Safety will be the Trust expert in Remote Clinical Triage and associated activities, providing expert advice and guidance to relevantcolleagues, ensuring the high quality performance of the function.
The Deputy Head of EOCs- Clinical Operations and Safety will be required to work closely withthe Medical Directors, Frequent Caller and Warning Marker Lead, Safeguarding professionals, Pharmaceutical Lead and Clinical colleagues to ensure the safe operationand consistent management of all frequent caller and warning marker activities, including frequent Caller Management plans, through the Complex Patient Meeting.
The Deputy Head of Clinical Operations and Safety will deputise for the Head of ClinicalOperations and Safety in their absence.
The Deputy Head of Clinical Operations and Safety is expected to participate in a TrustTactical Command on-call rota.
