Job summary
Reporting to the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Duty Officer, the Dispatch Team Leader role is a highly visible and responsible position within the EOC and is key part of the Emergency Operations Centre Leadership Team.
The Dispatch Team Leader will have responsibility for day to day delivery, performance and operational deployment within their dispatch zone. They will be responsible for providing assurance to the EOC Duty Officer regards all aspects of operational delivery and performance across their dispatch zone.
The Dispatch Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring safe, effective and high quality deployment of resources in accordance with agreed Trust process and policies, ensuring a principle of 'no patient to be kept waiting unnecessarily' and 'respond, review, revise' is consistently adopted.
The Dispatch Team Leader will ensure that all incidents are dispatched on in time and priority order at all times, as determined by triage process or policy, escalating concerns to the EOC Duty Officer.
Main duties of the job
The Dispatch Team Leader will provide day to day management, supervision and support to a team of Dispatchers in the form of performance appraisals, developmental feedback, regular 1 to 1, sickness management, team meetings and other administrative processes as required. The Dispatch Team Leader will also be required to provide welfare support, advice on Dispatch process and procedure, SOP application, management of breaks and key system usage, including C3 CAD and radio systems.
