Job summary

The Clinical Support Team (CST) Leads are highly visible and accountable leaders within the Trust, accountable for the daily delivery of CST functions.

The CST Leader is responsible for ensuring a safe and clinical response to clinicians accessing the CST. This includes ensuring appropriate and dynamic advice, identifying clinical pathways, supporting clinical decision making, identifying and mitigating any clinical safety concerns in conjunction with the CST Manager and liaising with other remote advice teams to assure clinical quality is delivered in the most appropriate and effective method.

Main duties of the job

With support of the CST Manager, the CST Lead is responsible for the 24/7 day to day and ongoing leadership and management ofredeployed clinicians.

Furthermore, the CST Lead will support the CST Manager by ensuring:

  • Smooth implementation of the CST function.

  • A consistent approach and delivery of CST function with awareness of operational performance, delivery of contracted activity (such as Hear and Treat activity), NQP development and clinical quality.

  • High standards of performance, delivery, safety and adherence to processes and policy.

  • Ensuring a culture of inclusivity and support is fostered within the team, actively challenging and addressing issues as required and ensuring a performance and patient care focused environment.

  • Actively contribute to and ensure compliance of the business continuity and organisational resilience in line with Trust Policy.
